Practical Path to Learn the Exact Skills Sandy Lee Used
AI automation for SEO/blog/content systems, Claude/Claude Code mastery, Upwork client acquisition with Loom demos, simple app-building, and content systems — starting from zero technical background.
She learned everything “just-in-time” with AI itself as the teacher, practiced by shipping real work, and stacked skills through paid projects. You can do the same in focused 1–2 hour daily blocks.
1. Start with her free content (Days 1–3)
Go straight to the source. Her YouTube channel Sandy Lee AI (~60k subscribers) has dozens of practical tutorials that show exactly how she works:
- “You’re Not Behind (Yet): How to Learn AI in 11 Minutes”
- “How I Signed a $36K Client in 2 Weeks (w/ full time job)”
- “How I Built an AI SEO Agent to Rank #1 in 10 Minutes (Claude Code)”
- “How I Fully Automated My Video Editing with Claude Code”
- “How to Get Rich with Claude Code (Start Here)”
- Content systems and personal-brand playbooks
Watch 2–3 of these first. Pause and copy what she does in a new Claude chat. She also has a paid Skool community (“AI Content Systems”, ~$57/mo) with a structured 5-month curriculum, templates, weekly Q&As, and her tools if you want guided support later.
Free resources she shares: sleeautomation.com/resources and her tool Slee Studio.
2. Nail the foundational tools (Week 1)
These are the only tools she relied on heavily at the start.
Prompting & research with Claude + ChatGPT
- Open free accounts at claude.ai and chatgpt.com.
- Practice feeding real problems.
- Key habit: Give lots of context, iterate, and ask it to critique/improve its own output.
Claude Code (her biggest multiplier)
This is the terminal/agent tool that lets non-coders build workflows, agents, and simple apps.
- Install it (official one-liner from Anthropic):
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
(or the Windows equivalent from the docs) - Free learning resources (2026):
- Anthropic’s official Claude Code docs + Anthropic Academy short courses
- Free GitHub guided course (highly recommended, 38k+ stars): luongnv89/claude-howto
- DeepLearning.AI “Claude Code: A Highly Agentic Coding Assistant”
- YouTube playlists: “Ultimate Claude Code Mastery”, Tech With Tim beginner tutorials, or Nick Saraev full courses
- First project: Ask Claude Code to build a simple SEO content pipeline or blog-post generator for a fake client.
Also learn Loom (free screen-recorder) — this is non-negotiable for her client method.
3. Build the core skill: AI SEO / content automation workflows (Weeks 1–3)
This is what she sold first ($3k → $5.5k retainers).
Just-in-time practice method (exactly how she and current guides recommend):
- Pick a real or practice website.
- Ask Claude to create a complete AI-powered SEO blog automation workflow.
- Refine it into something you can screen-record.
- Expand: Add technical SEO checks, content refresh agents, schema, internal linking, etc.
Tools to layer on later:
- n8n or Make.com (no-code automation)
- Google Sheets
- Basic WordPress / Webflow
Goal after 1–2 weeks: Have 1–2 solid, demo-able workflows you can show in a 2–3 minute Loom.
4. Learn the client-acquisition method (Week 2 onward — do this in parallel)
This is how she got paid while still learning.
- Create an Upwork profile focused on “AI SEO automation / content systems / blog automation.”
- Study 10–20 real job posts in that category.
- For each promising one: Have Claude build a custom mini-workflow, then record a short Loom walking through exactly how you would solve that client’s problem.
- Apply to 5–10 jobs with the Loom attached (she did 7 and landed the first).
- When you win work, over-deliver, document everything, and raise rates as results appear.
Many 2026 freelancing guides confirm the Loom demo is still one of the highest-converting tactics for AI services on Upwork.
5. Add the supporting skills
- Ikigai niche selection: Draw the four circles (what you love / what you’re good at / what the world needs / what you can be paid for). Feed your answers into Claude and ask it to generate ideal client profiles and content pillars. Sandy uses this constantly (and built a free tool around it at Slee Studio).
- Simple app / tool building: Once comfortable with Claude Code, follow her pattern — “vibe code” a small tool (e.g., content idea finder, SEO auditor) in a few hours while recording the process for YouTube.
- Content systems: Use the same AI stack to systematize your own YouTube/Instagram/LinkedIn output so it takes minimal daily time.
Example Prompts Sandy Lee Style (Copy & Adapt)
These mirror the exact style of prompts she uses and teaches — heavy context, clear goal, iterative, and focused on shipping something demo-able.
Realistic 30–60 day plan (1–2 hrs/day)
| Week | Focus | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Claude + Claude Code basics + her videos | First working SEO workflow + Loom demo |
| 2 | Refine workflows + Upwork profile + apply to 5–10 jobs | Live proposals out |
| 3–4 | Deliver any paid work + document + start personal content | First client feedback + 3–5 YouTube/posts |
| 5+ | Raise rates, productize one tool, grow audience | Multiple income streams starting |
Mindset that actually works
- Treat AI as your co-worker and teacher — ask it to explain, critique, and improve everything.
- Learn by shipping (demos, proposals, client work), not by consuming endless courses.
- Deliver real value even while learning; that’s how she kept and raised the retainer.
- Stay consistent at 1–2 hours — she did this with kids and a full-time job.
